Are you afraid of a dentist? Do you have high anxiety for dental treatment?

An Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon is trained rigorously in a hospital setting to provide outpatient intravenous sedation to both adult and pediatric patients.

A drug is administered to the patient through a small catheter that is placed in a vein. This will achieve a sleep-like state yet the patient will maintain airway and heartbeat. The best part is that most patients do not remember the surgery at all due to amnesia effect of the medications.

Patients who are having intravenous sedation must have a responsible adult who is over 18 years old and be able to drive the patient back home. The adult must also be able to monitor the patient at home until the effects of anesthesia have worn off.

If you have high dental anxiety and interested in intravenous sedation for oral surgery, please give us a call to schedule an appointment for initial consultation.
